Using an assigned reading from the course, or an article found by the student, locate two further readings of interest from the reference sources (footnotes, bibliography or works cited section).
Using a class reading or a work found by the student, they will locate at one article that the work cites (backward searching) and one article that cites the work (forward searching). Students will then read all three articles and write a short essay on their relationship.
